Helen L. Byrdy

Helen L. Byrdy, 102, of 155 King St. died yesterday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Rogi, Poland, on June 23, 1903, daughter of August and Sophia Muron Miszczak, her family moved, in 1911, to Pittsfield, where she attended local schools.
With her husband, Mrs. Byrdy formed a dance band wherein she played violin and sang. She also worked at GE.
She was also a seamstress and enjoyed gardening and reading.
She and her husband, Louis S. Byrdy, were married in 1923. He died in 1968.
She leaves a daughter, Doris Albrecht of Pittsfield, with whom she made her home; three sons, Ervin T. Byrdy of West Hartford, Conn., Edward L. Byrdy of Silver Spring, Md., and Dr. Harold S. R. Byrdy of Wilton, Conn., three grandchildren and a great grandchild.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Mrs. Byrdy, who died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2005, will be held on Tuesday at 11 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, preceded at 10 by a gathering of friends and family. Guests are invited to a reception at a local restaurant following the ceremony.
Memorial donations may be made to Adult Day Health of Pittsfield, in care of the funeral home. She also leaves two daughters-in-law, Anne Brewster Byrdy and Paula Coughlin Byrdy; three grandchildren, Kitson, Edward Jr., and Christopher Byrdy, and a great-grandchild, Edward Byrdy III.
