Eva S. Hovey

Eva S. Hovey, 93, of 20 South Onota St., died yesterday at Springside of Pittsfield where she had resided since October.
Born in Pittsfield on July 13, 1912, daughter of Emmanuel and Mary Zahn Schiffman, she attended local schools.
Mrs. Hovey was employed for many years as a clerk by the former Wendell Pharmacy. Previously, she worked for a short time at General Electric.
A longtime communicant of St. Mark's Church, she enjoyed thoroughbred horse racing, knitting and fishing.
Her husband, Harry H. Hovey Sr., died Jan. 22, 1988.
She leaves two sons, Harry H. Hovey Jr. of North Greenbush, N.Y., and Ronald L. Hovey of Wilmington, N.C.; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Eva S. Hovey, age 93, who died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005, will be on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mark's Church celebrated by the Rev. John Salatino, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to Catholic Charities in care of the funeral home.
She is also survived by her daughters-in-law, Esther Hovey and Bernadette Hovey.
