Frederick W. Ott

Frederick W. Ott, 65, of 109 Dewey Ave. died Friday, Nov. 11, at Hillcrest Commons Nursing Center where he resided since July of 2003.

Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 1, 1940, son of Leonard and Mary Sumy Ott, he attended local schools and was a 1958 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

A veteran, he served in the Army for two years, and with the National Guard for more than 20 years.

Mr. Ott was a mover for Billy's Trucking for 15 years. He retired in 1994. Prior to that, he was a laborer at GE for 15 years.

He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed country music, classic western movies and horses. He was a New England Patriots fan.

He leaves three sons, Frederick W. Ott of Chicago, and Michael J. Ott and William F. Ott, both of Pittsfield; a daughter, Lisa M. Paris of Pittsfield; three brothers, John Ott and Francis Ott, both of Pittsfield, and Roger Ott of Adams; two sisters, Madeline Erichetto of Pittsfield, and Mabel Primrose of North Bend, Ore., and six grandchildren. He also leaves his former wife, Dolores Gagliardi McNulty of Pensacola, Fla.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Frederick W. Ott, who died Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Peter Boehringer, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, which is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ott also leaves his six grandchildren, Catrina Tobey, Joseph and Tanner Ott, Michael Ott and Gianna and Jacob Paris. He was predeceased by three brothers, Andrew "Bud" Ott, Leonard Ott and Wilfred Ott.
