Hilda Mary Tierney

Hilda Mary Tierney, 95, of 55 Crystal St. died yesterday at Springside of Pittsfield, where she had resided for the past two days.
Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 14, 1910, daughter of Adolphus H. and Marie Millot Roy, she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
She was also a 1934 graduate of Bay Path Institute in Springfield.
Primarily a homemaker, she was employed by Equitable Insurance Co. in Springfield prior to her marriage. She had also taught at the Staten Island, N.Y., Business School.
She was a longtime communicant of the former Notre Dame Church and a member of its Ladies of St. Anne Guild, and a communicant of St. Joseph's Church.
Her husband, Clinton F. Tierney, whom she married Nov. 30, 1939 at Notre Dame Church, died Oct. 22, 1999.
She leaves a son, Clinton F. Tierney II of Quincy; two daughters, MaryBeth Ellsworth and Celina F. Foley, both of Pittsfield, eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Hilda M. Tierney, who died Nov. 10, 2005, will be Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 8:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Joseph's Church, celebrated by the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lee. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice in care of the funeral home.
She was predeceased by three grandsons, Michael J. Foley, Paul E. Foley and Mark C. Phillips, a brother, Robert A. Roy, and a sister, Helen C. Curley.
