Elizabeth A. Snyder

Elizabeth A. Snyder, 84, formerly of 48 Beverly St., died Friday at Craneville Place, where she had resided for three years.

Born in Dalton on Jan. 1, 1921, daughter of Howard and Agnes Butler Jenks, she was a graduate of the former Dalton High School.

An executive secretary, Mrs. Snyder was employed by Haddad Motors and then by Crane & Co., retiring in 1983.

She was a communicant of St. Agnes' Church and enjoyed reading, baseball and sports.

Her husband, Ralph M. Snyder, whom she married March 9, 1943, died April 19, 1984.

She leaves a daughter, Christine Forgea of Windsor; a sister, Marguerite Middlebrook of Dalton; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Elizabeth A. "Bette" Snyder will be celebrated Thursday, Nov. 10, at 10 at St. Agnes' Church by the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor. Burial will be in Ashuelot Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.

Memorial donations may be made to the Craneville Place Recreation Fund in care of BARTLETT-WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 525 Main St., Dalton, MA 01226. She was predeceased by a sister, Eileen White, on July 1, 1990.
