Barbara Ann Solak, 74, of 41 Beaumont Drive died yesterday morning at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 2, 1931, daughter of Frank O. and Hazel O'Brien Breen, she was a 1949 graduate of St. Joseph Central High School.
Mrs. Solak was a homemaker.
She was a member of South Congregational Church.
She enjoyed golfing, traveling, crossword puzzles and reading.
She and her husband, Lucien E. Solak, were married June 23, 1951.
Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Mark P. Solak of North Adams, and Brett L. Solak of Pittsfield; two daughters, Pamela J. Desautels of Pittsfield, and Marcia L. Darrin of Durham, N.C.; a sister, Patricia Russell of Pittsfield, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Barbara Ann Solak will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Joel F. Huntington, pastor of South Congregational Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Solak may be made to the American Heart Association or American Lung Association, both in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
Mrs. Solak leaves her nine grandchildren, Michael, Heather, Scott, Holly, Darren, Brittany, Annah, David and Olivia, and two great-grandchildren, Connor and Matthew.
