Anna "Jane" Shea, 78, of 28 Montgomery Ave. died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 12, 1926, daughter of Richard G. and Anna Mae Hughes Shea, she was a 1945 graduate of St. Joseph's High School.
In 1946, she graduated from Pittsfield Secretarial School.
Miss Shea most recently worked for Graphic Impact Signs, retiring in the 1980s. Prior to that, she worked for the Pittsfield welfare department, and was the Assistant County Treasurer. From 1967 into the 1980s she was the Acting County Treasurer.
She was a communicant of St. Charles' Church, and belonged to an artists' group in Dalton.
She leaves her closest relative, a sister-in-law, Carol Shea of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Memorial Service for Anna "Jane" Shea will be held on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. William G. Moseley, deacon of St. Charles' Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to St. Charles' Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
Known as "A.J.," she will be lovingly missed by her many friends and her nieces, Christine A. Shea of Pittsfield and Regina H. Bernardo of Lanesboro, and nephews Richard B. Shea and Michael D. Shea, both of Pittsfield.
