Catherine L. "Kitty" Salzarulo

Catherine L. "Kitty" Salzarulo, 95, formerly of 477 Gale Road died yesterday at Springside of Pittsfield, where she had resided since 2004.
Born in Polia, Province of Catanzaro, Italy on Sept. 18, 1910, daughter of Francesco and Elizabeth Alessandro Puia, she came to the U.S. at the age of 3 and attended Pittsfield schools.
Mrs. Salzarulo worked at the former Eaton Paper Company for 30 years.
She retired from Eaton in 1973.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and a member of its Ladies Guild.
She was also a member of the Sons of Italy Itam Lodge #564.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting and cooking.
She and her husband, Thomas G. Salzarulo, were married June 11, 1927. He died March 2, 1993.
She leaves three daughters, Josephine C. Kilmer and Francine C. Williams, both of Pittsfield, and Elizabeth L. Salvatore of Dalton; two sisters, Rose E. Talarico and Mary P. Ballato, both of Pittsfield; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Catherine L. "Kitty" Salzarulo will take place Thursday at 9 a.m. from FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, with the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, C.S.S., pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The Mt. Carmel Ladies Guild will meet at the funeral home Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. for a Vigil Service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Springside of Pittsfield Activity Fund, in care of the funeral home, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
Loving Grandmother of Donna Marie DiGennaro, Dominic T. Salvatore, Peter C. Williams and Lynn Marie Wartski. Loving Great-grandmother of Jennifer Faulconer, Amanda Williams, Philip Williams and Alexcina Wartski. Mother-in-law to John Kilmer, Dominic Salvatore and Peter L. Williams.
She also leaves several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Carmella E. DelGallo, and a brother, Joseph Puia, Sr. Catherine's main interest in life was her family, relatives and close friends.
Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her many hours of happiness.
