Mary Z. Trudeau

Mary Z. Trudeau, 83, formerly of Woodbine Avenue, died Sunday at Hillcrest Commons.
She was a former Becket tax collector and co-owner of the former Raymond's Market in Becket.
Born in Montville, Conn., on March 24, 1922, daughter of Daniel and Mary Fedoruk Zavadsky, she attended schools in New Haven, Conn., and was a graduate of New Haven High School. She moved to Becket in 1945 and to Pittsfield in 1975.
Mrs. Trudeau was a clerk at Wahconah Regional High School in Dalton from 1994 until her retirement in 2002.
She was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary in Becket.
She was a seamstress and enjoyed gardening and cooking.
She and her husband, Lawrence R. "Bob" Trudeau, were married Nov. 3, 1945. He died Nov. 15, 1983.
She leaves a daughter, Mary A. O'Donnell of Pittsfield, and a grandson.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mary Z. Trudeau will be conducted Thursday at 11:30 at DERY FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Peter Boehringer.
Burial will follow in North Becket Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow, Nov. 2, from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Friends of Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
Mrs. Trudeau is lovingly survived by her grandson, Robert J. O'Donnell of Pittsfield. She was predeceased by a brother, Alex Zavadsky, and by two sisters, Anna Romanofsky and Sophie Forty.
