Bertha H. White, 94, of 106 Doreen St. died Friday at home after a long illness.
Born in Enfield, Conn., on July 14, 1911, daughter of Tufshel and Alice Tatro Gonyer, she was educated in the town of Washington schools and graduated from the former Chester High School.
Mrs. White was employed by GE ordnance in the handwire wrap division, retiring in 1973 after many years of service. Before that, she was a reweaver at the former A.H. Rice Silk Mill.
She enjoyed crocheting.
She leaves her companion, William I. Root, with whom she resided for more than 30 years.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- There will be no funeral or calling hours for Bertha H. White. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in Great Barrington at a later date.
Mrs. White's family would like to extend its thanks to the Berkshire Visiting Nurse and HospiceCare in the Berkshires for their help. WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements. She enjoyed her cats.
