Elizabeth Loretta Mayne, 81, of North Kingstown, R.I., formerly of Lime Kiln Road and Morgan Manor, died Tuesday at Scalabrini Villa Health Care Center in North Kingstown.
Born in Hatfield on Nov. 12, 1924, daughter of Matthew B. and Margaret Lovett Ryan, she grew up in western Massachusetts and graduated from Orange High School.
She also graduated from Cooley Dickinson School of Nursing.
Mrs. Mayne was a registered nurse at Athol Memorial Hospital. After her retirement she moved to Lenox. In 2003, she moved to North Kingstown.
Her husband of 47 years, Paul F. Mayne, died in 1997.
She leaves two sons, Kevin M. R. Mayne of East Greenwich, R.I., and Thomas P. R. Mayne of Old Orchard Beach, Maine, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret Mayne, who died in 1961.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A private burial will be held in Mountain View Cemetery on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005 at the Scalabrini Villa Chapel in North Kingstown.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to Scalabrini Villa Health Care Center, 860 North Quidnessett Road, North Kingstown, R.I. ROCHE FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Mayne also leaves loving daughters-in-law Lisa of East Greenwich and Diane of Old Orchard Beach; beloved granddaughters Avonlea and Helene Mayne of East Greenwich, and Erin Nason and Alison Mayne of Old Orchard Beach, and one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Rose Nason of Old Orchard Beach.
She was also predeceased by a sister, Patricia Ryan Darey, with whom she made her home in Lenox, in 2003.
