Mary Stapor

October 16, 2005

Mary Stapor, 87, formerly of Whitcomb Street, Webster, died Sunday at Webster Manor.

She was the mother of Janice M. Doboszynski of Pittsfield.

Born in Webster on Aug. 11, 1918, daughter of Stanislaw and Karoline Bielaszka Fijal, she attended Bartlett High School.

Mrs. Stapor was employed as a repairer at Webster Shoe Co., Sandlerette Footwear Co. and Bates Shoe Co.

She was a communicant of St. Joseph Basilica and a member of its Holy Rosary Sodality.

She was a founding member of the St. Joseph Polish Women's Club and a member of the Polish American Veterans Auxiliary.

Her husband, Joseph J. Stapor, to whom she was married 42 years, died in 1984.

Besides her daughter, she leaves another daughter, Nancy S. Baron of Webster; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mary Stapor will be Thursday, Oct. 20, from SITKOWSKI & MALBOEUF FUNERAL HOME, 340 School St., Webster, with a Mass at 11:30 at St. Joseph's Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 at the funeral home. The family suggests donations to either the Felician Sisters Infirmary, Our Lady of the Angels Convent, 1345 Enfield St., Enfield, CT 06082, or to Friends of St. Joseph School Fund, 53 Whitcomb St., Webster, MA 01570.

She leaves her son-in-law, Joseph, grandchildren, Jennifer Doboszynski, Juliann Lipski, Stephanie Baron and Stacey Baron, and three great-grandchildren, Abigail, Natalie and Jacob Lipski. www.sitkowski-malboeuf.com.
