Dana L. Bridges

Dana L. Bridges, 64, of 368 Williams St. and West Melbourne, Fla., died Friday at Boston Medical Center after a long illness.
Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 17, 1941, daughter of Russell E. and Louise Brewer Clarke, she was a 1959 graduate of the former St. Agnes' School for Girls (now Doane Stuart School) in Albany, N.Y., and attended Endicott Junior College in Beverly.
She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Bridges was a mental health worker for Meridian Mental Health Services for 15 years, retiring in 1998. Before that, she worked for more than 20 years at Stevenson & Co. Insurance in the homeowners' department.
For many years, she ran the concession stand at the Berkshire County Softball Complex, which is operated by her husband, R. James Bridges.
The couple celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary Friday.
Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter, Laurie Nichols of Palm Bay, Fla., and three grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Calling hours for Mrs. Dana L. Bridges will be Monday from 5 to 7 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME. Following cremation, burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery in Canaan, Conn.
She also leaves her grandchildren, Elaina Rae Nichols, Chad R. Nichols and Kyle C. Nichols, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Jeremy Clarke, and a sister, Judith Greenman. She will be remembered as a loving grandmother and friend.
She also leaves her beloved dog, Vinnie. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Autism Research Institute or the American Cancer Society, both in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
