Russell Robert Johnson, 59, of 258 Lenox Ave. died Sunday afternoon at home.
Born in Cambridge on May 30, 1946, son of Charles and Bridget Buckley Johnson, he was educated there.
From 2003 to 2004, Mr. Johnson was last employed as a residential support worker by the Berkshire County Association for Retarded Citizens in its traumatic brain injury program. A cook for most of his life, he first worked in many restaurants in the Boston-Brookline area from 1977 to 1988.
He relocated to Miami, Fla., where he was kitchen manager for a private school for 15 years. He moved to Pittsfield in 2002 and worked for Hillcrest Educational Centers and for Canyon Ranch.
His first wife, Patricia, is deceased.
He leaves two daughters, Alisa H. Johnson of Somerville and Bridie M. Johnson of Jamaica Plain; two brothers, Jack Buckley of Miami and Kevin Buckley of Lowell; two sisters, Lorraine F. Scott of Chelsea and Maureen Buckley of Pelham, and Bonny and David DeMastrie, with whom he resided. He also leaves his former wife, Barbara Johnson Karasinski of Somerville.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Russell Robert Johnson, who died Oct. 9, 2005, also leaves his daughter Bridie's mother, Judy M. Waters of Richmond, and her sister and brother-in-law, Bonny and David DeMastrie, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, David Johnson. Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St..
