She was also a music critic for the Berkshire Eagle, the Advocate and other local newspapers, spending much of her lifetime listening and reviewing music at Tanglewood and other area venues.
She was a jazz musician, like her husband, Morton Wayne, former Director of Music for the Pittsfield Public Schools, traveling extensively with their 13-piece jazz band. They celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on September 17.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Robert Wayne of Williamsport, Pa.; two daughters, Judith Wayne of Marblehead and Gwendolyn Wayne of Branford, Conn., and four grandchildren.
