Mildred L. Vallone, 80, formerly of 268 Linden St. died Monday at the Providence Care Center where she had resided for the past eighteen months.
Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 15, 1924, daughter of Gilbert and Ethel Hammond Cummings, she attended school at St. Charles'.
She was a communicant of St. Charles' Church.
Mrs. Vallone was a homemaker, caring for and raising her family.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and collecting bells.
Her husband, Carmello J. Vallone, whom she married April 20, 1943, died Aug. 9, 1963.
She leaves three daughters, Mildred Hubbard, Rose Gooley and Mary DuPuis, all of Pittsfield; two sisters, Marjorie Cherizan and Rose Mary Cummings, both of Pittsfield; eight grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. A son, Michael Vallone, predeceased her in 1998.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Mildred L. Vallone will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME with the Rev. Daniel Brunton officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Activities Fund at Providence Care Center, in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. She was also predeceased by five brothers and a sister.
