Pearl M. Hathaway

Pearl M. Hathaway, 94, of 40 Orlando Ave., died yesterday at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center in Lenox, where she had resided since July 7.

Born in Cummington on Feb. 11, 1911, daughter of Guy and Ethel Signor Fitzroy, she attended Worthington schools.

She moved to Pittsfield in 1951.

Mrs. Hathaway worked as a housekeeper in private homes for many years, retiring at 76.

She was a member of Pilgrim Memorial Church, and enjoyed cooking, baking and needlepoint.

She was married on May 31, 1930, to Harold P. Hathaway, who died Aug. 17, 1993.

She leaves two sons, Arthur G. Hathaway of Pasadena, Texas, and David L. Hathaway of Pittsfield; a daughter, Margaret E. St. John of Pittsfield; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Pearl M. Hathaway will be Monday at 11 at the BARTLETT-WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME in Dalton. Burial will follow in the Goshen Cemetery in Goshen.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. Among survivors are her grandchildren, Nancy Roviaro, Jill St. John, Mark St. John, John St. John, Jason Williamson, Scott Hathaway, Michael Hathaway and Kimberly Costello.

If friends desire, donations are suggested to United Cerebral Palsy in care of the funeral home, 525 Main St., Dalton, MA 01226. She enjoyed making others happy.
