Kathleen B. Cooney Winsor

Kathleen B. Cooney Winsor, 62, of Bentrup Court, died Friday morning at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

Born in Elizabeth, N.J., on Nov. 14, 1942, daughter of Francesca Terdoslavich Byrne and the late John William Byrne Sr., she attended schools in Lenox and was a 1960 graduate of Lenox High School.

She also graduated from the former LeBaron Hair Dressing School in Pittsfield in 1961.

Mrs. Winsor was employed by the Lenox Lumber Co. for 13 years, retiring in 2004. Prior to this, she had worked as hair dresser at the former Dot and Jan's Salon.

She was a member of St. Ann's Church.

She enjoyed reading, gardening, animals and traveling.

Her first husband, Thomas F. Cooney Sr., whom she married May 15, 1965 in St. Ann's Church, died Oct. 14, 1981.

She and her husband, Robert L. Winsor, were married March 21, 1987 in Charlottesville, Va.

Besides her husband, and her mother, of Lenox, she leaves two sons, Thomas F. Cooney Jr. of Washington, D.C., and Michael J. Cooney of Lenox; two stepdaughters, Suzie Sudnikovich of Mendham, N.J., and Betsy Kelly of Lenox, a grandchild and five step-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Kathleen B. Cooney Winsor will be Tuesday at 9:15 from the ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Ann Church, con-celebrated by the Rev. Daniel B. Brunton, chaplain at Providence Care Center of Lenox, and the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, former pastor of St. Ann's.

Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations in Kathleen's memory to either the Berkshire Humane Society or the Lenox Library, both in care of the funeral home, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240.

She is also survived by her loving daughter-in-law, Christine Cooney, and her beloved granddaughter, Isabelle Cooney. She was predeceased by her brother, John William Byrne Jr., who died July 2, 1966.
