Michael Shaun Dowling, 57, of 7 Norwich Drive died yesterday at home.
Born in Fort Knox, Kent., on March 20, 1948, son of William F. Dowling Jr. and Mary Ruth Smitley Dowling, he was a graduate of Wahconah Regional High School.
He also attended Berkshire Community College and the University of Massachusetts.
A boiler tender by trade, Mr. Dowling was employed at Berkshire Medical Center for 10 years and Rice's Silk Mill for six years.
He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Dalton.
He was a Boy Scout troop leader for many years. He enjoyed reading, hunting and firearms.
He leaves a brother, Patrick D. Dowling of Dalton.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Memorial Service for Michael Shaun Dowling is planned for Saturday, Sept. 24, at 11 at First Congregational Church of Dalton with the Rev. Robert Kyte, pastor, and the Rev. Irene M. Jones, pastor of Richmond Congregational Church, officiating.
There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Great Trails Council, Boy Scouts of America, 88 Windsor Road, Dalton, MA 01226. The DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
He also leaves a niece, Tracy Quinto, a nephew, Patrick W. Messer, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins in Boston and in Indiana.
