George V. Perreault

George V. Perreault, 83, of 45 Main St., Sugar Hill died Tuesday evening at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield, where he had resided for the past month.

Before moving to Sugar Hill, he had also lived in Pittsfield.

Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 16, 1922, son of Vinal and Exilda West Perreault, he was a 1940 graduate of Pittsfield High School.

He served in the Marine Corps during World War II.

Mr. Perreault was employed in the mold-making industry for more than 40 years. From 1958 to 1968, he owned and operated Dalton Mold and Tool. In 1968, he went to work as mold engineer for Tupperware Corporation in Auburn, then at Milton Bradley, where he worked for 11 years, retiring in 1987. During the 1940s, he worked at GE.

He was a communicant of St. Agnes Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing cards.

He and his wife, the former Jennie S. Hermanski, were married Sept. 9, 1944 in Holy Family Church.

Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Thomas L. Perreault of Dalton, George R. Perreault of Dunfries, Va., and Vinal R. Perreault of Houston; a daughter, Deborah A. Fontaine of Belchertown; a brother, Clifford Perreault of Housatonic, eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for George V. Perreault, who died Tuesday, Sept. 6, will be celebrated Saturday, Sept. 10, at 9 at St. Agnes Church with the Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Pittsfield. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes School in care of DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main St., Dalton, which is in charge of arrangements.

He was predeceased by a brother, Leon, and a sister, Jean.
