Fares A. Khoury

Fares A. Khoury, 72, of Gamwell Avenue died Monday at home.
Born in Bloza, Lebanon, on Jan. 15, 1933, son of the Rev. Chidiac Khoury and Miriam Lebanon Khoury, he attended schools there and emigrated to North Adams in 1955.
Mr. Khoury was a baker at Joanne's Bakery for several years and then at Williams College for five years.
Shortly after moving to Lenox in 1968, he bought the Village Snack Shop on Housatonic Street, which he operated for 32 years.
He also owned and operated Sir Anthony's Restaurant in Lenox Dale for 10 years and was still managing properties that he owned at the time of his death.
He moved to Pittsfield in February 2004.
He was a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Lenox.
He leaves three daughters, Josephine Coleman and Kelly Troiano, both of Pittsfield, and Karen M. Riley of Lenox Dale; a son, Louis Khoury of Pittsfield; a brother, Thomas Khoury of Bloza; three sisters, Josephine Khoury, Cecilia Bashara and Karemie Sahoon, all of Sydney, Australia, and six grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mr. Fares A. Khoury, who died Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, will be Friday at 9:15 from ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Ann's Church celebrated by the Rev. Daniel B. Brunton, chaplain at Providence Care Center of Lenox and a former pastor of St. Ann's.
Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations in his memory to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240.
Mr. Khoury enjoyed spending time with his family and working. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Nicole Sacco, Monique Enos, Cara and Sara Riley, and Adam and Daniel Troiano.
