Richard C. Johnson

Richard C. Johnson, 64, of 122 Edward Ave. and 69 Shore Road, West Harwich, died Saturday at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis after suffering a heart attack earlier at home.
Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 13, 1940, son of Irene Henderson Johnson Quillard and the late Howard A. Johnson, he attended Dalton schools and was a 1959 graduate of Mount Hermon Preparatory School.
He also attended Northeastern University.
Mr. Johnson retired in 2002 after 37 years with General Electric/General Dynamics as a project supervisor, a financial planner and a telecommunications specialist.
He was a member of First Congregational Church in Dalton and of its choir, board of trustees, music and arts board and Monday Morning Crew.
He was also a member of the Berkshire Hillsmen barbershop chorus and the Firelight Four quartet and sang with the Oratorio Choir at First Church of Christ Congregational in Pittsfield.
Mr. Johnson was a past master of the Crescent/Pittsfield Lodge of Masons AF&AM, and past district deputy grand master and worthy patron of the Morning Star chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. He enjoyed sailing and was a member of the Corvette Club of the Berkshires.
He and his wife, the former Linda Robinson, were married May 16, 1981.
Besides his wife and mother, of Dalton, he leaves three sons, Raymond Bartlett Johnson and Victor Charles Johnson both of Pittsfield, and Jonathan Arthur Johnson of Three Rivers; two daughters, Laurie Jean Robinson of Pittsfield and Tammie Marie Johnson of Burlington, Vt.; a brother, Craig Arthur Johnson of Orleans; two grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mr. Richard C. Johnson will be conducted Thursday at 11 at First Congregational Church in Dalton by the Rev. Robert R. Kyte, pastor. Following cremation, burial will be Saturday at 11 in Kelly Cemetery on Old Main Street in Harwich Center with the Rev. George Higgins officiating.
Calling hours at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield will be tomorrow from 4 to 7. Following calling hours, an Eastern Star service will be held, followed by a Masonic memorial service by the Crescent/Pittsfield Lodge of Masons AF&AM. Among survivors are his grandchildren, Kellie and Kevin Robinson, and his great-granddaughter, Cheyanna Bufoni, all of Pittsfield.
