Irene M. Bordeau, 81, of Berkshiretown Apartments died Friday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 18, 1924, daughter of John and Catherine Lee Farley, she moved to Springfield at a young age and attended schools there.
She returned to Pittsfield in 1945.
She was in the Army Medical Corps for two years during World War II.
A receptionist, Mrs. Bordeau was employed in the x-ray department at BMC for 17 years, retiring in 1986.
She was a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church.
She and her husband, Donald F. Bordeau, were married Nov. 24, 1947. He died Sept. 17, 1980.
She leaves a son, Donald J. Bordeau of Pittsfield; two sisters, Catherine Mahue of Agawam and Marie Leahey of Stockbridge, and a granddaughter.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Irene M. Bordeau, 81, who died Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, will be tomorrow, Aug. 9, at 8:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Joseph's Church celebrated by the Rev. Michael Shershanovich, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to Shiner's Hospital in Springfield in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
Irene will be lovingly missed by her daughter-in-law, Beth Bordeau, and her granddaughter, Margaret Bordeau.
