Anne M. Tenneson, 68, of 121 Parker St. died yesterday at home.
Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 2, 1936, daughter of Donald B. and Anna Dupuis MacKenzie, she was a 1954 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
She served in the Navy from 1955 to 1959, teaching aviation fundamentals.
Mrs. Tenneson joined The Berkshire Eagle in 1988, working first in the mailroom and later in the customer service department. She retired in 1999.
She was a member of the Audubon Society for many years and took in many injured and abandoned animals, nursing them back to health and setting them free.
She leaves three daughters, Kristine Sykes of Pittsfield, Sister Mary Paul (Karen Tenneson) of Napperville, Ill., and Sister John Paul (Kathy Tenneson) of Jamaica Plain; two sons, Michael Tenneson of Lanesford, N.D., and Miles S. Tenneson of Pittsfield; three sisters, Doris Provost of Springfield, Alice Clark of Maysville, Ga., and Jean Tavener of St. Petersburg, Fla.; eight grandchildren, and a great-grandson.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Graveside services for Anne Marie Tenneson will be Friday at 11 at Pittsfield Cemetery. Friends are asked to meet inside the cemetery gates at 10:45. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial donations may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
Among survivors are her grandchildren, Paul McNeil, Keil Sykes, Krystal Sykes, Matthew Tenneson, Danielle Tenneson, Jeremy Tenneson, Rose Tenneson and Michael Tenneson; a great-grandson, Owen McNeil; a son-in-law, David Sykes, and two daughters-in-law, Cindy Tenneson and Christine Tenneson.
