John C. Kielman

John C. Kielman, 80, formerly of 207 Second St., died Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center.
He had resided at Hillcrest Commons since February 1999.
Born in Bristol, Conn., on March 20, 1925, son of John C. and Mildred Crawford Kielman, he graduated from Bristol High School in 1943 and from the University of New Hampshire in 1949.
He moved to Pittsfield in 1952.
An Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, he served as a B-17 bomber pilot in the 8th Air Force in England.
Mr. Kielman was employed by GE as an engineering technician in the high-voltage laboratory in the power transformer department. He retired in 1985.
He was a member of South Congregational Church and the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs, and a former member of the General Electric Athletic Association and the Stanley Club.
He enjoyed flying, building remote-control airplanes and collecting antique automobiles.
His wife, the former Theresa Renzi Hynes, whom he married July 4, 1968, died March 22, 1994.
He leaves a son, Richard C. Kielman of Pittsfield; a daughter, Jess B.J. Kielman of Pittsfield; three stepsons, Lawrence R. Hynes of Latham, N.Y., Anthony J. Hynes of Burnt Hills, N.Y., and Daniel W. Hynes of Hixson, Tenn.; a sister, Margaret Jane Sitterly of Sonoma, Calif.; four grandchildren, and a great-grandson. He also leaves his former wife, Geraldine Gillon Binder of Pittsfield.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- John C. Kielman, 80, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005. Survivors include a son, Richard C. Kielman, and his wife, Debra; a daughter, Jess B.J. Kielman; four grandchildren, Lisa Dorsey, Rebecca Erickson, and Courtney and Kelsey Kielman, and a great-grandson, Michael Dorsey.
There will be no calling hours. Following cremation, private graveside committal services will take place at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to South Congregational Church, 110 South St., Pittsfield, MA 01201. FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., is in charge of arrangements.
