Elaine F. Pochinchuk

Elaine F. Pochinchuk, 85, of Pine Grove Apartments on High Street died on Sunday at her home.

Born in Hinsdale, N.H., on Oct. 2, 1919, daughter of Emil and Laura Deyo Rimbold, she attended the former Dalton High School and was a graduate of the former Berkshire Business College.

Mrs. Pochinchuk was employed by GE for 36 years, beginning her career during World War II in the power transformer department; she later worked as a reservations clerk. She retired in 1975.

She was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club and Pensioners Club.

Before moving to Dalton, she was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church in Hinsdale, N.H.

She and her husband, John C. Pochinchuk, were married in October 1960. He died Aug. 13, 1991.

She leaves a son, Robert L. Aldrich of Dalton; a daughter, Carol Chapman of Dalton; a brother, Edgar A. Rimbold of the state of Florida; five grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Elaine Florence Pochinchuk, who peacefully passed in her sleep on Sunday afternoon, will be held Thursday, Aug. 4, at 10:15 a.m. from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Church celebrated by the Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, pastor. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Dalton.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Pochinchuk may be made to the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter in care of the funeral home, 890 East Main St., Dalton. Mrs. Pochinchuk loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.

She leaves her five grandchildren, Kelley Drosehn, Cheri Baroli, Robert L. Aldrich Jr., Linda Lannon and Wendy Wendell, as well as 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three sisters, Blanche Kaley, Laura Jenks and Lorraine Wilson, and a brother, Emile J. Rimbold Jr.
