Pearl Goodman

Pearl Goodman, 82, former longtime resident of 36 Dan Ave., died on Saturday at Plumtree Care Center in Santa Jose, Calif. where she had resided for about a year.
Born in Pittsfield on April 20, 1923, daughter of Abraham and Dora Yarmuk Goodman, she attended local schools and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Primarily a homemaker, she had worked for a time as a secretary at General Electric.
An active lifelong member of Knesset Israel Synagogue, she was a life member of Hadassah, chairman of the Knesset Israel rummage sale, and a member of the Knesset Israel Sisterhood; she was involved with the Jewish Federation of the Berkshires, and a program docent at Tanglewood.
She volunteered as a tutor to young children in Israel for three winters, and volunteered helping Jewish immigrants from Russia to acclimate and find work in Pittsfield.
She and her husband, Isadore Goodman, were married April 6, 1975, in Pittsfield. He died on Feb. 3, 2003.
She leaves two sons, Michael Wolfe of League City, Texas, and Jeffrey Wolfe of Vernon, N.J.; a daughter, Stephanie Wolfe Cottrell of Los Gatos, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Carol Goodman Kaufman of Worcester; and six grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Pearl Goodman, age 82, who died on July 30, 2005, will be on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Knesset Israel Synagogue. Burial will follow in Knesset Israel Cemetery.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation in care of DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
The family will receive friends during Shivah at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, 1 West St., Pittsfield, on Thursday and Friday from 11 until 3 p.m.
