Julius E. Wendt

Julius E. Wendt, 94, formerly of 379 East St., died Friday at Hillcrest Commons, where he had resided for two months.

Born in Albany, N.Y., on Dec. 9, 1910, son of Julius M. and Dorothea Kirchner Wendt, he attended Pittsfield Public Schools.

Mr. Wendt worked for the United Fruit Company in the Merchant Marines for five years, and then went to GE, where he worked as a winder in the Power Transformer division until his retirement at age 62.

A member of the GE Camera Club, he enjoyed taking pictures, as well as fishing and traveling.

He leaves his wife, the former Ruth Carpenter, whom he married on March 29, 1941.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- At the request of Julius E. Wendt, who died July 29, 2005, there will be no funeral services. Following cremation, burial will be in Pittsfield Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Donations in his memory may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. The WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201 is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
