Marcel Bernard Pemble

Marcel Bernard Pemble, 92, of 787 Pecks Road died yesterday at his home, where he had resided since 1936.
Born in Pittsfield on Oct. 4, 1912, son of Earl and Regina Bernard Pemble, he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a graduate of the former Central High School.
He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps.
A dairy farmer by profession, Mr. Pemble and his late wife owned and operated Pemble's Dairy Farm on Pecks Road for 75 years. He ran the farm with his family for three generations.
At that same time, he was employed by GE as a ram welder in the Power Transformer Department, working nights for 28 years. He retired in 1975.
Mr. Pemble was a communicant of St. Charles' Church.
A member of various agricultural organizations, he was noted for his pigs, eggs, cattle and hay.
He and his wife, the former Ruth F. Hoskeer, were married on Dec. 28, 1934, in Notre Dame Church. She died on Nov. 23, 2003.
He leaves three sons, Earl B. Pemble of Stephentown, N.Y., Gary E. Pemble of Lanesborough and David K. Pemble of Pittsfield; five daughters, Roseann Pharmer of Dalton, Shirley Quail of Hinsdale, Sandra Lubold of Becket, Phyllis P. Kellogg of Lanesborough and Marcella J. Mollison of Cheshire; 23 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Marcel B. Pemble, who died Friday July 29, 2005, will be held Monday, Aug. 1, at 9:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Charles' Church.
Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Lanesborough. Calling hours will be held tomorrow, Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Pemble may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.
Mr. Pemble was predeceased by a brother, Daniel Pemble who died in December 2004; a sister, Harriet Murphy; a half-brother, Boyden Pemble; a grandson, David Arthur, and a son-in-law, Paul Pharmer Jr. He leaves his daughters-in-law, Jodi (Mrs. Earl), Kathy (Mrs. Gary) and Kim (Mrs. David); his sons-in-law, David Quail, Charles Lubold and Robert Mollison; his daughter Phyllis' companion, Tom Ditello; and his beloved dog, Bear.
