Rosalina Costa Luz, 85, of 48 New York Ave., died on Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Ludlow on Nov. 19, 1919, daughter of Manual and Josephine Silva Costa, she attended the local schools there.
She moved to Pittsfield as a teenager with her family in 1936.
She was employed as a paper sorter at Crane and Co. for 11 years retiring in 1987. Previously she was employed by the Zayre Corp.
A communicant of St. Mary's Church, she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting, crafts, spending time with her family at the New Jersey shore, and was a New York Yankees fan.
She and her husband, Arnold Luz, were married 51 years. He died Jan. 29, 1996.
She leaves her son, Jerry A. Luz of Trenton, N.J.; two brothers, James W. Costa of Dalton and Horace Costa of Pittsfield; a sister, Mary DaSilva of Pittsfield; two grandsons and four great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Rosalina Costa Luz, age 85, who died July 28, 2005, will be on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. from DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Mary of the Morning Star Church celebrated by the Rev. Paul Bombardier, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home.
She was predeceased by a sister, Vikki Luz, and a brother, Raymond Costa.
