John Stanley Skowron

John Stanley Skowron, 83, of 227 Onota St. died Monday morning at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Indian Orchard on Feb. 26, 1922, son of Albert and Sophia Kryzak Skowron, he graduated from schools there.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he served from 1944 to 1946.
Mr. Skowron was employed as a senior draftsman at GE for 45 years, retiring in 1986.
He was a communicant of St. Mark's Church and a member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing and electronics.
He and his wife, the former Stephanie V. Kulig, were married Aug. 30, 1947, in St. Stanislaus' Church in Chicopee.
Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Robert Skowron of East Longmeadow and Michael Skowron of Dover, N.H.; two daughters, Nancy J. Leszko of Tolland, Conn., and Beverly A. Phillips of Pittsfield; a brother, Stephen Skowron of Indian Orchard, and five grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for John Stanley Skowron, who died Monday, July 25, will be Friday, July 29, at 9:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Mark's Church celebrated by the Rev. John C. Salatino, pastor.
A reception will follow in Father Leonard Hall. A graveside service will be held Friday at 2 at St. Stanislaus' Cemetery, Montgomery Street, Chicopee. Calling hours will be tomorrow, July 28, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Alzheimer's Association, both in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St.
He also leaves five grandchildren, Kristen Phillips, Jeffrey Skowron, David Skowron, Ashley Phillips and Meagan Skowron.
