Alfred Abramson Talbert

Alfred Abramson Talbert, 85, of PineHill at Kimball Farms, 235 Walker St., died Wednesday at Berkshire Medical Center.
He had resided in Lenox for 1 1/2 years. Previously, he had been a 50-year resident of Rockville Centre, N.Y. He also resided in Highland Beach, Fla., for 22 years.
Born in New York City on March 14, 1920, son of Joseph and Anna Dorsie Abramson, he graduated from Yesiva High School and earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from City College of New York and his master's in business degree from New York University.
An Air Force veteran of World War II, he served as a flight instructor in Biloxi, Miss., and was discharged as a sergeant.
Mr. Talbert was a real estate developer and builder in New York City, and throughout the United States and in Paris. He was vice president of the former Collins Tuttle & Co. Inc. Real Estate, where he worked for 55 years. He retired in 1999.
He served on the Real Estate Board of New York on the board of the 92nd Street Y in New York City, and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 448 in Pittsfield.
He enjoyed reading, gardening, skiing and sailing.
He and his wife, the former Edith Jackson, would have celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary Sept. 23. They were married in Harrison, N.Y.
Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Richard Harrison Talbert of New York City; a daughter, Hope Candace Talbert of Lenox; a brother, Leon Abramson of Great Neck, N.Y., and a granddaughter.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Alfred Abramson Talbert, 85, who died July 20, 2005 will be conducted Sunday at 2 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME by Rabbi Seicol, spiritual leader of Temple Anshe Amunim. There will be no calling hours.
Burial will be in Beth Moses Cemetery in Farmingdale, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in his memory may be made to PineHill at Kimball Farms Activities Department in care of the funeral home.
He also is survived by his loving granddaughter, Courtney Talbert. Following the funeral, the family invites friends to a reception at 3:30 p.m. at PineHill at Kimball Farms.
