Eric P. Wickenheisser Sr., 46, of North Street died Friday afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center after a short illness.
Born in Dover, N.J., on April 26, 1959, son of Paul J. and Dorothy J. O'Neill Wickenheisser, he was a 1977 graduate of Mahwah (N.J.) High School.
He served in the Army from 1977 to 1981 and later was a member of the Army Reserve.
Mr. Wickenheisser was employed by Mullen Mayflower of Pittsfield for several years.
He also worked as a piano mover for Safeway Piano Moving Co. in Ramsey, N.J., and later worked in the same position in the Boston area.
He enjoyed fishing, sports and antique cars.
Besides his father, of Mahwah, and his mother, of Fairlawn, N.J., he leaves two daughters, Dorothy B. Wickenheisser of Lee and Erin A. Wickenheisser of Stephentown, N.Y.; a son, Eric P. Wickenheisser Jr. of Lee; a stepdaughter, Florence Donnelly of Lee; two brothers, Karl Wickenheisser of Oxford, Conn., and Peter Wickenheisser of Cheshire, Conn.; a sister, Edith Apostolico of Toms River, N.J., and a step-grandson. He also leaves his former wife, Patricia Curtin of Lee.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Eric Paul Wickenheisser will be conducted Friday, July 15, at 1 at Trinity Church in Lenox by the Rev. John Tarrant, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Stockbridge.
Private burial will be at a later date. Calling hours will be today, Thursday, from 4 to 7 at ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations in Eric's memory to the Berkshire County chapter of the American Red Cross, in care of the funeral home, which is in charge of arrangements.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
