Albert J. Maillow

Albert J. Maillow, 94, of Walker Street died Monday afternoon at Providence Care Center, where he had resided since February.
Born in Pittsfield on June 22, 1911, son of Armand and Lena Grant Maillow, he was a 1929 graduate of St. Joseph's High School.
Mr. Maillow was employed by GE as a purchasing agent in the power transformer department, retiring in 1973.
Following his retirement, he worked at Lenox Savings Bank for several years. He also was an ombudsman for Elder Services of Pittsfield for 15 years.
He was a communicant of St. Ann's Church and a member of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children in Lenox, and the Kiwanis and Alford Brook clubs.
He was a hunter and fisherman.
His wife, the former Doris K. Zarvis, whom he married March 27, 1942, died in 1961.
He leaves a daughter, Valerie D. Herrick of Lenox; three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Albert J. Maillow will be Wednesday, July 6, at 9:30 from ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Ann's Church celebrated by the Rev. Christopher J. Waitekus, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial donations to Providence Care Center of Lenox in care of the funeral home, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240.
He also is survived by his beloved grandchildren, James O. Herrick Jr. of Richmond, Timothy J. Herrick of Lenox and Elaine M. Luers of Los Angeles; his loving son-in-law, James O. Herrick Sr., and his loving great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Mollie Herrick, Ashley, Emilee and Maxwell Herrick, and Peter Luers.
