Alfred E. Kassimer

Alfred E. Kassimer, 93, of Kimball Farms, 235 Walker St., died Sunday at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center, where he had been a patient since Jan. 18.
Born in Tannersville, N.Y., on July 4, 1911, son of Edward and Whilemena Borkousky Kassimer, he lived most of his life in Pittsfield and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mr. Kassimer was employed by GE as a layout man in the machine shop.
He retired in 1973 with 32 years of service.
He was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church in Pittsfield and member of the GE Quarter Century and Pensioners' clubs and the Senior Citizens.
His first wife, the former Mary Bondi, and his wife, the former Anny Jeppesen, are deceased.
He leaves several nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Alfred Edward Kassimer, who died Sunday, June 26, 2005, will be Friday, July 1, at 9:15 a.m. from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Kassimer may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield. Mr. Kassimer leaves two dear friends, Linda Cranson and Kathy Burton, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by three sisters and a brother.
