Katherine A. Creran

Katherine A. Creran, 70, of 320 Pittsfield Road died Wednesday night at Providence Care Center of Lenox, where she had resided for 10 years.

Born in Pittsfield on March 16, 1935, daughter of Agnes Mazur Creran of Pittsfield and the late James Creran, she was educated in local schools.

Primarily a homemaker, she was employed for a time as an operator at the former New England Telephone Co. She also worked at the former Big N store and at the former Liggett's Drug Store.

She was a volunteer at one time for the Berkshire County Chapter of the American Red Cross.

She enjoyed knitting, baking for her family and friends, reading, writing, crossword puzzles, and playing and teaching Scrabble.

Her former husband, Thomas A. Killion, died July 25, 2004.

Besides her mother, she leaves a daughter, Candace Killion of Lenox; a son, Thomas Killion of Pittsfield; four sisters, Christine Pike of Hinsdale, Sally Perry of Averill Park, N.Y., Susan Goldberg of Jacksonville, Fla., and Maryann Gingras of Windsor, and two brothers, Charles Creran of Pittsburgh, N.H. and James Creran of Pittsfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Katherine A. Creran, age 70, died June 22, 2005. A memorial service will be held at a time to be announced. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to Providence Care Center of Lenox, in care of the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Daniel Creran and Francis Creran.
