Glada B. Sutton

Glada B. Sutton, 85, of 92B Pomeroy Ave. died Saturday at home after a short illness.
Born in West Virginia on April 18, 1920, daughter of Manderville Miller and Mary Toney Miller Lake, she attended schools there. She also was raised by her stepfather, Samuel Lake.
She later moved to Maryland, where she lived until moving to Pittsfield in 1996.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Sutton also worked as a property manager in the Washington, D.C., area. During World War II, she worked on Liberty ships in Oregon.
She enjoyed family gatherings, painting and sewing.
Her husband, Ernest Sutton Sr., whom she married in 1944, died April 27, 1984.
She leaves two sons, Ernest Sutton Jr. of Pittsfield and Harold Sutton of Dunkirk, Md.; three brothers, Clyde Miller of Seat Pleasant, Md., Harvard Miller of Chapmanville, W.Va., and Sydney Lake of Tacoma, Wash.; a sister, Elizabeth Bruley of Fredericksburg, Va.; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Mrs. Glada B. Sutton, 85, died Saturday in Pittsfield. Graveside services will be Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at 1 p.m. at Fort Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, Md.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, in care of DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St., Pittsfield. She was predeceased by a sister, Ida Davidson.
