Doris May Moon, 90, of 1520 West St. died Thursday at Berkshire Medical Center after a long illness.
Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 3, 1914, daughter of Sherman and Estella Wheeler Drake, she was a 1933 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Primarily a homemaker, she assisted her late husband, Richard E. Moon, in the operation of the family business, Dick Moon's Sporting Goods on Fenn Street.
Mrs. Moon was a past member of Pilgrim Memorial Church, and a former member of the Pittsfield Fencing and Pittsfield Revolver clubs.
She was also the founder of the Streamline Anglers Fishing Club for Women.
She leaves a son, Roderick Moon of Pittsfield; a brother, Leonard Drake of Keene, N.H.; three grandsons, and four great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Doris May Drake Moon, age 90, died June 9, 2005. Calling hours will be Monday, June 13, from noon to 2 at DEVANNY-CONDRON
FUNERAL HOME. A graveside prayer service will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association in care of the funeral home, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
