Gerald W. Hebert, 64, of 65 Columbus Ave. died yesterday morning at Hillcrest Commons, where he had resided for six weeks.
Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 15, 1940, son of James H. and Bertha Kuchinski Hebert, he attended local schools.
A baker since he was 18, Mr. Hebert was last employed by Pittsfield Rye Bakery, retiring at age 55 because of ill health.
He first worked at Richmond Bakery.
He enjoyed woodworking. Many years ago, he was a volunteer with the Pittsfield Fire Department and with the Pittsfield Auxiliary Police.
He leaves two daughters, Heather Hebert and Patricia Hebert, both of Tennessee; two brothers, Donald Hebert of Manchester, Conn., and George Hebert of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; a sister, Bernice A. Hebert of Dalton, and two grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Gerald W. Hebert, who died Thursday, June 9, will be Monday, June 13, at 2 at the DERY FUNERAL HOME with the Rev. Linda Shaw, pastor of Morningside Baptist Church, officiating.
Calling hours will be Monday from 1 to 2 at the funeral home. Cremation will follow. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The omission of flowers is requested. Memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St.
He was predeceased by a sister, Catherine Williams.
