Evelyn F. Boulais, 78, of Arlington Street died Thursday afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 1, 1927, daughter of Francis J. LaPlante and Louise Pender LaPlante Francoeur, she was a 1945 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Boulais was employed by A.H. Rice Co. as a machine tender for 20 years. She also worked as a waitress in local restaurants for many years.
She was a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church and a past member of the Dalton Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies' Auxiliary.
She enjoyed playing bingo, knitting, shopping and attending dances at the former Lakeview Restaurant.
Her husband, John N. Boulais Sr., whom she married Jan. 16, 1947, at St. Joseph's Church, died Aug. 16, 2004.
She leaves two sons, Daniel M. Boulais and John N. Boulais Jr., both of Pittsfield; two daughters, Yvette M. Taylor and Donna L. Tucker, both of Pittsfield; 16 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Evelyn F. Boulais, who died Thursday, May 26, 2005, will be Wednesday, June 1, at 8:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Joseph's Church celebrated by the Rev. Michael A. Shershanovich, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Boulais may be made to Special Olympics of the Berkshires in care of Civitan Club of Pittsfield, P.O. Box 92, Pittsfield, MA 01202.
Mrs. Boulais was predeceased by two brothers.
