Ruth M. Chandler, 77, of 921 East St. died yesterday at home.
Born in Pittsfield on July 25, 1927, daughter of Harold and Miriam Bucke Conklin, she attended schools there.
A homemaker, Mrs. Chandler attended St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Pittsfield.
She enjoyed sewing, reading and doing puzzles.
She and her husband, Robert W. Chandler, celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary March 13. They were married in New Lebanon, N.Y.
Besides her husband, she leaves four daughters, Sharon Chandler of Lenox, Dorothy Taraskiewicz and Nancy Chandler, both of Pittsfield, and Marjorie Gandoffo of Canaan, Conn.; five sons, William Chandler, Richard Chandler, James Chandler and David Chandler, all of Pittsfield, and Mark Chandler of Lenox; a sister, Barbara Kipp of Canaan, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Ruth M. Chandler will be conducted Friday, May 27, 2005, at 11 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church by the Rev. Gay M. Rahn. Burial will be in Mountainview Cemetery in Lenox.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 220 East St., Pittsfield. Memorial donations may be made to either HospiceCare in the Berkshires or to St. Stephen's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
