Laura Sue Douglass, 58, of 36 Andover St. died Sunday at home after a brief illness.
Born in Pittsfield on Sept. 17, 1946, daughter of Richard E. and Leila Marcotte of Pittsfield, she was a 1964 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
She had recently returned to the area after living in the state of Florida.
Ms. Douglass had been employed as a real estate agent in Longwood, Fla., for 13 years. She had earlier worked as an investment broker in Massachusetts.
She enjoyed the theater and was active in the Town Players for many years.
She also enjoyed interior decorating and was an avid reader.
Besides her parents, she leaves two sisters, Pat Marcotte of Beverly and Deborah Hines of Pittsfield. Her son, Scott K. Douglass, died in 1996.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Laura Douglas, who died May 7, 2005, will be conducted Tuesday, May 10, at First Baptist Church in Pittsfield by the Rev. Charles Fox and the Rev. Dr. Robert Rennie, pastor, officiating.
Calling hours will be tomorrow, May 9, from 5 to 7 at WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home, 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
