James M. Culverwell

James M. Culverwell, 46, of 336 Bridge St., Appletree Farm, Hamilton, died Thursday at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington after prolonged complications from heart surgery due to diabetes.
He had resided in Hamilton since 1995 and had also lived in Boston.
Born in Springfield on Jan. 3, 1959, son of Edward G. Culverwell of Ipswich and Naples, Fla., and Mary Duquette Culverwell of Dalton, he was educated in Longmeadow until moving to Dalton in 1971. He was a 1977 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School. He earned a bachelor of science degree from New Hampshire College in 1981.
At the time of his death, Mr. Culverwell was employed as a vice president of Winslow, Evans & Crocker of Boston. An investment banker, he specialized in sales and investment banking with Culverwell & Co. Inc. in Boston, his father's company, for 15 years. That company became affiliated with Winslow, Evans & Crocker in 2000, and Mr. Culverwell continued with his same duties.
He was a member of the National Association of Securities Dealers and the National Investment Bankers Association.
He enjoyed working on his farm, riding horseback on Crane's Beach, and visiting the family cottage, Blueberry Hill, in Dalton.
He and his wife, the former Lisa Karcich, were married June 7, 2003, in Hamilton.
Besides his parents and his wife, he leaves his stepmother, Linda E. Culverwell of Ipswich and Naples; two sisters, Teresa Shea of Essex and Mary Lou Gagne of Newport, R.I., and a brother, Denis M. Culverwell of Rowley.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- James M. Culverwell, 46, died May 5, 2005. Jim made his home at Appletree Farm in Hamilton, with his wife, Lisa, their two golden retrievers, Basil and Sage, and several horses. Jim was a very vibrant and optimistic man who enjoyed life to the fullest. He will be sorely missed by his family and many friends.
He also leaves his brother-in-law, Michael Gagne, and his sister-in-law, Darcy Culverwell, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 10, at 9:15 from the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Agnes' Church, concelebrated by his uncle, Father Don Bosco OFM, CAP and the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor of St. Agnes' Church.
Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Joslin Clinic in care of the funeral home, 890 Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
