Charles F. Smith, 57, of 19 Acorn St. died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on Feb. 9, 1948, son of William C. and Mary Wallace Smith, he attended the former Coolidge School for Crippled Children.
Mr. Smith was a member of the United Cerebral Palsy Association of the Berkshires and of Ad Lib Center for Independent Living.
A Red Sox fan, he also enjoyed WWF championship wrestling, fishing, playing bingo and reading Tom Clancy books.
He leaves a brother, Arthur Smith, with whom he made his home, and a sister, Patricia Marquis of Ware, N.H.
FUNERAL HOME -- Charles F. Smith, age 57, was called safely home on May 1, 2005. The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 10:30 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. John Salatino, pastor of St. Mark's Church.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery at a later date. Calling hours will be Thursday from 8 until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to United Cerebral Palsy Association of the Berkshires or to Ad Lib, both in care of the funeral home.
He is also survived by his nieces, Kimberly Meczywor and Tina Connor, and by several cousins.
