Barbara Ann Shampang, 72, of Kingwood, Texas, a native of Pittsfield, died April 29 at home.
Born on Aug. 18, 1932, daughter of Raymond and Elizabeth Wilcox Flanders, she was a Pittsfield High graduate.
Mrs. Shampang was employed by the former Hillcrest Hospital in Pittsfield for many years.
She enjoyed gardening, taking long walks, traveling and crocheting.
Her husband, David Charles Shampang, died in June 1982.
She leaves two sons, David Shampang of Kingwood, with whom she had resided for a month, and Brian Shampang of Knox, Ind.; a sister, Doris Martel of Bath, N.H.; a brother, Bert Flanders of Santa Clara, Calif., and three grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Sherry Shampang.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- For those desiring, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Northeast Hospice Services, 9813 Memorial Drive, Humble, TX 77338 in the name of Barbara Shampang.
She leaves her daughters-in-law, Lee Anne and Sue; a brother-in-law, Ray Martel; a sister-in-law, Olga Flanders, and grandchildren Britni, Thad and Trey Shampang. She was the "Best Grandma" in the world.
Predeceased by her sister, Betty Harford. KINGWOOD FUNERAL HOME in Houston is in charge of arrangements.
