Gertrude C. Paquette

Gertrude C. Paquette, 82, of 3 Walters Lane, Winchester, N.H., formerly of Greenfield, died yesterday at Hillcrest Commons.

She was the mother of Patricia A. Michalak of Lanesboro.

Born in Palmer on Oct. 8, 1922, daughter of Marshall and Gladys Godin Delphia, she was a graduate of Palmer High School and the Franklin County School of Nursing.

She moved to Winchester in 1979.

A registered nurse, Mrs. Paquette was employed by Pioneer Valley Manor Rest Home for several years, retiring in 1990. Before that, she worked for the former Farren Memorial Hospital in Montague for many years.

She was a member of the Franklin County Public Hospital Nursing Alumni Association, the Women's Auxiliary of the John F. Harrington VFW Post 417 of Greenfield and AARP.

She was a seamstress and enjoyed crafts and camping.

Her husband, Clarence P. Paquette, died March 10, 1995.

Besides her daughter, she leaves two other daughters, Judith M. Pease of Greenfield and Theresa M. Gagnon of Orange; a brother, Richard Delphia of Ashfield; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Gertrude Paquette will be Friday at 9:15 from KOSTANSKI FUNERAL HOME, 220 Federal St., Greenfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Holy Trinity Church celebrated by the Rev. Ronald G. Yargeau, pastor.

Burial will follow in Green River Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, 369 South St., Pittsfield, MA 01201, or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

She also leaves three sons-in-law, Marvin Michalak, William Pease and Wayne Gagnon. She was predeceased by a sister, Rhea Delphia, in 1988.
