Alice R. Geary, 94, of 18 Valentine Road died yesterday morning at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield on March 8, 1911, daughter of Armand L. and Roseanna Faucher Pagerey, she graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1928 and attended the former Berkshire Business College.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Geary was employed by Crane & Co. in Dalton for several years prior to her marriage in 1935.
She also worked at the former Eaton, Crane & Pike Paper Co.
She was a communicant of St. Mark's Church and a longtime member of the Third Order Carmelites in Williamstown.
Her husband, John V. Geary, whom she married June 17, 1935, at the former Notre Dame Church, died April 29, 1976.
She leaves a son, Thomas J. Geary of Pittsfield; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three sons, David R. Geary, John F. Geary and Kevin Geary.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Alice R. Geary, age 94, was called safely home on May 2, 2005. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:15 from DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 at St. Mark's Church by the Rev. John Salatino, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be today, May 3, from 3 to 6 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
She leaves her daughters-in-law, Jean Geary, Pauline Theoret, Frances Lee and Linda Geary, and her grandchildren, Sean, Rebecca, John V., Christina, Marie, Michael, Kathleen, Douglas and Allison Geary, and Jennifer Chicoine.
She was predeceased by three grandchildren, David P., Daniel T. and Susan M. Geary.
