Pearl Cecelia Lefkowitz, 79, of 111 Allengate Ave. died yesterday morning at home.
Born in Pittsfield on June 21, 1925, daughter of Jared W. and Rose B. Dion Finch, she was a 1943 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mrs. Lefkowitz was a homemaker.
During World War II, she was employed as a payroll clerk at GE.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a member of its Rosary Sodality and Family Society, and taught Confraternity of Christian Doctrine.
She was also a member of the Marian Helpers Association in Stockbridge.
She enjoyed cooking and baking and was a Red Sox fan.
She and her husband, Jacob. G. Lefkowitz, were married June 25, 1949, at St. Mary's Church.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son, John J. Lefkowitz of Neenah, Wis.; three daughters, Sharon M. Andersen of Pittsfield, Catherine A. Towne of Lee and Patricia Lefkowitz-Elias of Great Barrington, and eight grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Pearl C. Lefkowitz, who died April 29, 2005, will be Monday, May 2, at 12:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 1 at St. Mary's Church celebrated by the Rev. Paul A. Bombardier, pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be tomorrow, May 1, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Marian Helpers Association, P.O. Box 716, Stockbridge, MA 01262. Mrs. Lefkowitz was a woman devoted to her faith.
She set time aside each day to pray for the intentions of others. She enjoyed spending time with her eight beloved grandchildren, Eric, Patrick and Kathryn Andersen, Sarah and Rebecca Towne, Benjamin Towne IV, and Erin and Jamie Lefkowitz.
