Jane Katherine Hoelter, 86, of Melbourne Place Assisted Living Community, died Wednesday morning at Berkshire Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born in Milwaukee on Oct. 5, 1918, daughter of Adolf J. and Elsa S. Schimidt Lippold, she graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
She was a longtime resident of Weston, Conn., until moving to the Pittsfield area in 1999.
Mrs. Hoelter was a high school English teacher. An artist and a weaver, her work was exhibited in several East Coast art galleries.
She was a communicant member of Faith Lutheran Church.
Her husband, Gerhard P. Hoelter, died Oct. 26, 2003.
She leaves a son, Kurt H. Hoelter of Canaan, N.Y.; a daughter, Kimi Cunningham of Los Angeles, and a grandson.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Jane K. Hoelter, who died April 27, 2005, will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capital Drive in Brookfield, Wis., tomorrow, May 2.
Calling hours will be from 9:30 until the service at 10. FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, was in charge of local arrangements. Survivors include a grandson, Kurt Parker of Pittsfield.
Her father was an engineer and co-founder of Milwaukee Dairy Supply Co., later known as Cherry-Burrell Co.
