Born in Camden, N.J., on Aug. 22, 1943, son of John "Jackie" Cruise Weaver and the late Henry G. Weaver Jr., he was educated there. He developed cerebral palsy, which affected his motor coordination, hearing and speech. He lived on the family farm on Atsion Road in Indian Mills, N.J., before moving to Massachusetts in 2003.

He formerly worked in trucking and was a stationary engineer in the casino industry.
Mr. Weaver was active in the Personal Assistance Services Program in New Jersey, serving on the Consumer Advisory Council for the Department of Human Services' Division of Disability Services, helping to empower the disabled.
He was a founding member of the Burlington County Go-Getters Association, whose motto was "Disabled does not mean Unabled!" He also served on a state task force that led to greater understanding of the needs of the disabled.
